Calendar of Chapter Events

Contemplative Outreach of Central Iowa invites you to set aside a day for silence, centering prayer and self-care as we move into 2024. We will be using Joyce Rupp’s Standing at the Gates of the New Year as our reflection for the day. This day invites you to reflect on the past year, listen for a “word” for the new year, create an intention for 2024, pray, journal, read, color, draw, stretch, nurture yourself with rest, , … or whatever YOU need or are led to:

This Day of Silence, Self-Care and Centering Prayer is for you!

There will be 3 Centering Prayer Times and one guided Welcoming Prayer followed by Centering. All of this within your own home being supported by a Zoom community! It really does work!Like when we are gathered in person, we will have a group check in to start the day and one to end the day. See the schedule below.

9:00 - 9:30 Welcome and introductions
9:30 - 9:55 Centering Prayer
9:55 - 11:05 Contemplative time on your own
11:05-11:30 Centering Prayer
11:30-12:30 Contemplative Lunch
12:30 - 1:00 Guided Welcoming Prayer followed by Centering Prayer
1:00 - 2:55 Contemplative time on your own
3:20 - 4:00 Closing Reflection and sharing

A Zoom link will be sent to all registrants prior to the event with reflections and suggestions about how you might spend your day in self-care, silence, and centering prayer.
