This Centering Prayer retreat is especially crafted for those within the 12-step community who might benefit from the practice of centering prayer for daily meditation.
We’ll explore the dimensions of an eleventh step practice of prayer and meditation.
There will be a review/introduction of the method of centering prayer for those newer to the practice, and ample time for immersion in the meditation practice.
Centering Prayer facilitates the movement from more active modes of prayer into a receptive prayer of resting in the presence of one’s higher power. It is a method of silent meditation which consists of responding to the your higher power’s presence and action within. Centering Prayer is at the same time a relationship with God as we understand God, and a discipline to foster that relationship.
Event Location: Christian Conference Center, Newton, IA.
This is an adult-friendly space with hotel style rooms with 2 queen size beds and each room has a private bath. You may plan to share with a roommate, or reserve a private room.
Cost: $175 Double, $195 single (private bath).
